3. Recognize and reward initiative in employees you already have. Initiative and risk-taking isn’t always rewarded in corporate culture. Employees often think that initiative is breaking the rules and is a negative. But to have an entrepreneurial culture, initiative, even small initiative, has to be rewarded.
Remember that negative comments will decrease people’s willingness to take a risk. But you can create a culture of initiative, self-reliance and independence with a regular diet of praise and recognition.
